If you love to run or walk, a Chiweenie makes a great partner because they’re so active. #3 Chiweenie: Chihuahua and Dachshundĭepending on its parents, a Chiweenie can be long- or short-haired. They love to learn new tricks and commands. Hold the salsa! The teeny taco terrier, or “Chitoxy,” is feisty enough, but you’ll have no trouble training these smart pups. #2 Taco Terrier: Chihuahua and Toy Fox Terrier Hmm… I wonder if I could teach one to carry in my groceries. You can train them for all kinds of activities like tracking and rescue work. They certainly took mine! #1 Alusky: Siberian Husky and Alaskan MalamuteĪluskies have beautiful, wolf-like markings, and they love to be kept busy. Be careful! They’re enough to steal your heart. This list of mutts shows that they’re just as smart, sweet, and doggone cute as purebreds. I know from experience that mutts make some of the best family pets, so I picked 29 of my favorites to share! I love watching purebred pups strut their stuff at dog shows, but when it comes to picking a pet, I don’t care about pedigrees.

We have used this 100s of times since my purchase 6 months ago, after cleaning it still looks brand-new and both my dog and I are pleased with this purchase. This page contains affiliate links. It’s the perfect length and the two handholds allow you to keep your dog a little distant or very close. I often wear it under a tunic top, attached to my dog with his service harness on, and it is almost invisible. The hand holds on the leash are the perfect size to easily slip your hand in even if you’re wearing gloves or mittens. There is a ring on the waist belt, this allows your dog to make a circle around you without pulling on your belt. It has some unique features such as the slightly stretchy leash part prevents abrupt jerks when do you and your dog are out of sync. I am so glad I made the purchase! It is very easy to put on and take off both for me and my dog – so important in the varying light conditions and chaos of travel. I purchased this leash for traveling with my 110 pound German Shepherd. Lastly all Inquiries I sent to Tuff Mutt were very quickly replied to…excellent customer service! Looking forward to the snow melting and testing out the running aspect! I did a lot of research on “running leashes” and the Tuff Mutt leash was ranked highest on all articles I read. If you’re only used to a regular firm leash it will take minimal time to adjust. I DON’T feel like I’ll be pulled off my feet with the force of an 80lb, 8 month golden retriever at the other end! The leash does have some elasticity but it’s not overly exaggerated. We haven’t used the leash for running yet due to very deep snow but we’ve already used it for hiking and it works exactly as described. I love the two different leash handles to enable close contact control such as in an elevator and the regular loop end for arms length control to give my dog Bruce more freedom. I absolutely love this leash ! The delivery was extremely fast to Ontario and when I opened the package I was extremely impressed with the very obvious quality materials used. If you can point us in the right direction. Something wrong with this post? Thanks for letting us know. Anyway, overall, great product and if they change the hardware, and/or made a harness that’s more small-dog friendly, I’ll buy another one when this one wears out. My dog is has a brachycephalic head (smushed face), and therefore her anatomy is less efficient at cooling, so the big, bulky harness is a no-go for us because the more simple one in the pic is cooler (also, not even sure if these come in small dog sizes). I suppose these are made with larger dogs in mind, and perhaps the company would say I should purchase their harness to go with their leash.

The only thing I would change if I could is the hardware… I wish the hook were smaller and lighter so it didn’t drag down the easy/simple harness that I prefer for my dog (see pic). It has been a few months and has held up great so far. This product has been wonderful! I love the bungee and I love that it is very adjustable for my waist.

I LOVE this hands-free leash! I’ve started walking 75 minutes every morning, and I wanted to be hands free with my dog’s leash.
